A Saint in the Midst of Demons

This weekend, Mommy Dancing Spirit wasn't well. She woke up all achy, flu-ish, sore ears/throat, in agony every time she tried to swallow, and unable to stay awake more than an hour at a time.....not in any shape to look after Little Cub. So Daddy Big Chief had to take over. He took on the roles of feeder, clother, and entertainment-provider. Unfortunately, he was hit by a killer wave of exhaustion himself, barely able to pry open his eyelids in the afternoon. Poor Little Cub was left with two zombies for parents.

Luckily for all involved, he rose to the occasion. He was happy to play on his own, sat quietly in front of the electrionic babysitter for an indecent number of Teletubbies and Bob the Builder episodes so the zombies could crash on the sofa with him (horrible parents, forever stunting his mental and social development!), didn't bat an eye at any diaper changes, and was generally the type of angelic child you always know people are lying about when they say they have one. It was as if his saintly personality understood it needed to make an appearance, and forced out all his demonic ones.

Of course, now that we're both better, his truer colors have come back shining through. But at least we can be eternally grateful to our saint of a child, no matter how brief the appearance.

Thank you, Little Cub. Mommy and Daddy appreciated it mucho. xoxoxoxoxo
