Oh my. Sooooooo many pictures. Indulge me, though, please. This post is mainly for Daddy's benefit, as he hasn't seen his children in person for nearly a month (not all of them are in order, either, seeing as some include Daddy, so are a month old....go with the flow here). By the way, if anyone can tell me why Blogger puts some of my text in underlined blue as if it were a web link when it really isn't, and more importantly, how to get rid of the damn things, I'd love you forever.
Anyway..........pictures.
Misc
These don't necessarily fall into any category, I just felt like sharing them.

| Bird-watching. Seriously. No, really, sparrows have built a nest in the fireplace vent. She actually IS bird-watching! |
| Far more afternoons than I like to admit are spent this way. (how teenage does she look?!) |
| One happy Grandpa |
| Am I the only one who spots the irony of how both he and Jack Sparrow are positioned? |
| When my friend Aunt Naughty came to visit, she slept in the home theatre room. Kitty Kat didn't want the 'bed' dis-assembled, so this is now how she likes to watch her movies. And if you don't tell her, sometimes Mama naps there while 'watching' movies with Kitty Kat, too! Shhhhhhhh.......... |
| When I left for the grocery store that morning, I put the umbrella in the car 'just in case'. When I came out, this was the sky. I know the phrase is 'line of clouds' but isn't this taking that just a little to the extreme?! (pretty darn cool, though) |
| Just when I thought American junk food couldn't get any more stomach-turning. WTF?! |
| I woke up one morning to find them consulting a Lego catalog together. Awwwww.... |
How to protect your building materials from expected severe weather: Park your riding-lawn mower on top. All THREE of your riding lawn mowers. |
| Kitty Kat returning the swing-pushing favor. |
| Love, love, LOVE libraries! |
Early education in construction skills
| Mr T's first experience with power tools. You know, the kind where you could lose a LIMB. |
| But he was so proud of his results! |
| This method took considerably more effort |
Crop-dusting
The neighboring farm gets dusted a couple times a year, and we were lucky enough to be home to see it. The plane started at the back of the house and ended up in the front. And for those of you not familiar with crop-dusting, those planes fly low. Very low. Kitty Kat was loving it.
Cardboard Boat Race
Grandpa and Mr T took part in the local pool's cardboard boat race......meaning float yourselves quickly across the pool in a boat made of nothing but cardboard and duct tape. HA!!! Ok, to be fair to him, Daddy played a big part in the design/construction phase, too, he just wasn't around for the execution. (if I can get the video uploaded, I'll put that here too) Without giving too much away, let's just say the boys ended up very wet, but a great time was had by all. Mr T wants to come back and participate every summer, and Grandpa was inundated with praise from the other contestants for his boat-building skills. Everybody wins!
Road trip to meet up with friends
One day, we jumped in the car and did the 'Great American Road Trip' thing to go visit some friends. In the car by 8am, drive a couple hours, meet up with various people for fun/friends/food, back in the car, drive a couple more hours, home at 10:30pm, immediately crash hard in bed.

| Who knew bowling shoes this size were so ADORABLE?! |
| My 'bad-ass biker friend'. Ha! That's so funny to me, seeing as we've known each other since the age of 14. And yes, he IS a biker, and yes, I'm sure he CAN be pretty bad-ass....but it's hard to take him seriously when you've sung teenage camp songs together and been to each other's high school graduation open houses. Bad-ass. Ha, I say, ha! |
Lovin' the lake
Closer to home, we've also spent a few afternoons at a local lake. Pools are wonderful, but sometimes it can be so much nicer to be in more natural water and surroundings.
| We thought she'd just covered up to warm up and dry off...... |
.....nope, she was totally zonked. 45 minutes of napping in the fresh air, 3 extra hours wide awake unleashing her full load of Crazy at bedtime later that night. Sigh! |
Wading pool at local park
One day we met up with my cousins for lunch, and ended up at the wading pool in a nearby park. We hadn't planned on going to a park.....with a wading pool.....so I didn't bring swimming things.....just a change of clothes for Kitty Kat in anticipation of spilled drinks or underwear-related accidents....not pools........total Rookie Mom mistake.
| The boys just sensibly rolled up their pant-legs. |
| Kitty Kat started off that way, too..... |
| ...then proceeded to full-on swan-dive and 'swim like a shark'. Thank Heavens for the spare clothes in the car! |
Playing Outside
Of course, we don't need to go anywhere to have fun outside. Grandma and Grandpa's yard will do just fine. In fact, one of Mr T's favorite things to do is to play outside with Daddy after dinner, and Grandpa is a fantastic substitute. And when Kitty Kat sees that her brother gets to play outside........well, it's 'Game on' then!
| No clothes? No problem! He'll hula-hoop in footed pajamas just as happily. |
| Water balloon fight with Grandma |
| Water hose fight with Grandpa (he lost, but the odds WERE pretty well stacked against him!) |
| Just occasionally, after-dinner-playtime ends because severe weather's on the way. But isn't it gorgeous?! |
Campfire Time!
No American summer in the country surrounded by acres and acres of nothingness is complete without a campfire and s'mores. Mmmmmmm.....s'mores.
| She was a little too nervous around the fire to want much to do with it. Fine by me! |
| She took a more 'delegation' role instead..... |
| ....and ate her s'more without the marshmallow as a result. |
| He, on the other hand, was all about the roasting! |
| In the end, she found her niche: Fire Chief. Atta girl. |
Ummmmm, yeah.....that's it. Congratulations on making it to the end! ;-)
