Zoo Day

What a great day! When speaking with a girlfriend the other week, she and I both agreed it would be nice to spend a day together with our kids before we each went our own ways for the remaining weeks of the summer. Well....... Mr T's birthday party at a crazy-expensive indoor kids' place landed us a voucher for a free child's entry to a nearby zoo, and seeing as Kitty Kat is free, we ended up getting into the zoo for the price of only one adult entry. Bargain!

Add to the fact that we brought in our own picnic food and drinks (and made the kids carry them around in their backpacks, tee hee!), the absolutely gorgeously perfect weather and five amazingly well behaved children.....I simply couldn't have asked for a better summer day. Not that it was easy to deal with SEVEN HOURS (!!!) at a zoo with my napless-for-the-first-time daughter and my 'I wish there was another boy here to play with' son, but overall, we had a killer day.

If only every summer day could be like this!!!
We got lots of pictures like this, seeing as neither could resist any of the bronze statues

He was happy to climb, she was happy to have big sisters for a day

What you don't see is that the push right after this one was a little on the heavy-handed side, and.....well, let's just say we learned that Kitty Kats don't always land on their feet. Hahahahahahaha!!!
A trip to the zoo isn't complete without ice cream
His face with ice cream....
.....and hers

Her current obsession is insects, or 'itsy bisty' as she calls them, so she was in Kitty Kat Heaven when she discovered this little flying critter on her arm. She LOVES anything creepy-crawly and will spend an unhealthy amount of time seeking them out, trying to touch them, catch them, offer them food and drink.......she does NOT get that from Mommy!

Sometimes walking is over-rated, and it's time to be a hyena. Yes, really.
But even hyena-walking gets old after a while, and you just might need to rest.
Two of her most captivated and captivating babysitters for the day
I LOVE that swings are the one item on a playground that you're NEVER to old to play on!
Jumping off is the best part, of course

And to finish off our day.......Otter s*x. Awesome.
