Beauty is Only Computer-Screen Deep

I just came across this article and cannot even put into words my thoughts on it.

Wait.

Yes, I can. They are as follows:

Shock - that this is even allowed/legal
Disbelief - that the world needs to be told who's beautiful and who's not...because we obviously can't be trusted to judge for ourselves who is beautiful in our eyes
Disgust - that people are so insecure as to hope/need to be accepted to something so shallow
Anger - that people are cruel enough to feel justified in this kind of categorizing of other human beings
Disappointment - that this may encourage more decisions based on superficial criteria....as if our world isn't superficial enough as it is
Confusion - as to how this can seem an acceptable code of practice both for the website and its customers
Pity - for those who feel so low about themselves that they see participating in this as a step up
Fear - that this is what our human race is becoming

Other than that, I'm completely speechless.

Um. Seriously?

"We have sincere regret for the unfortunate people who were wrongly admitted to the site and who believed, albeit for a short while, that they were beautiful," managing director Greg Hodge said.

"It must be a bitter pill to swallow, but better to have had a slice of heaven then never to have tasted it at all."

This person felt justified in saying this OUT LOUD???

Wow.
